Section A – Choose ONE question (30 points)

1. Describe the project management life cycle. Which activities/steps do you think serve as the most critical phase of the project management life cycle, and why?

2. A new systems development firm, XYZ, was hired to design a new on-line storefront for a small hardware store. Three months into the assignment, the stakeholders met with XYZ once on the projects status. Good news! The store owner assures XYZ they are on target and suggests a few features that would make this system perfect. Six months later the project is ready for delivery but with a budget overrun of 10%. The store owner refuses to pay the additional costs. XYZ delivered the project but did not receive payment for the 10% overage. To prevent this happening again, you have been hired as a consultant by XYZ to help them identify what went wrong and what they could have done differently. Share your recommendations to XYW.

3. What is Risk Management? Describe best practices to identify, assess, and manage risks. Should a system analyst be concerned about risk management? Why or Why not?

Section B – Choose ONE question (30 points)

Each answer should be supported by scholarly articles and must be cited and referenced using APA style. Each response should be a maximum of 2 pages.

4. Describe three types of feasibility assessments; Include advantages and application in a systems development project.

5. Systems Maintenance tasks involves different types of testing methods. Define Regression Testing, Unit Testing, and System Testing . What is the advantage of each?

6. Describe in detail, the purpose of any two (2) of the following diagrams:

Sequence Diagram, Context Diagram, Use Case Model Diagram, Activity Diagram, & Data Flow Diagrams.

Compare and contrast the two diagrams you chose.
