And sure, the 346 does not only come as the latest example of the company’s expertise, but it’s also Carver’s 02’ version of its highly admired line of Aft-cabin Motoryachts.
Extensions On Metal, Electrical and Upholstery Shops
Besides Carver’s emphasis on in-house fabrication of parts and equipment as well as woodwork facility; Carver has dedicated extensions on metal, electrical and upholstery shops. Sure, give credit where credit is due; the 346 sports tinned-copper wire runs, all cautiously loomed, marked, color-coded and installed; custom-fit electrical strap ups with watertight connectors; bowrail stanchions which are twice over-welded to their base plates; and outdoor sprawl on seat cushions with King Starlite XL bases, thicker marine vinyl fabrics, water-repellent form, mesh backing and stainless steel staples.
An Antiquated Approach
Carver’s entire construction appears to benefit from the same heeding, an antiquated approach! The 346’s solid glass base is designed to endure grounding for several years to come. Hull sides and decks are centered with Baltek AL600/10 to reduce weight. On the other hand, her bridge is firmly supported on eight aluminum standings concealed within mullions and other structures – an evaluate that seizes the entire full weight of the windows, hence allowing that custom-cut plus “floated” in tough adhesive for water-resistant reliability. Sound Equipped Galley
The well equipped galley has all the necessary appliances for preparing either small or full course sit victuals. As far as accommodations are concerned, the 346 has two fully appointed staterooms; like all the great dreams, it’s pretty plain here, in the guest stateroom located forward has an oversized double berth, plenty of stowage compartment and adjoining headed shower. And carver has elevated the use of space to an art form illustrated in the master stateroom located aft. It features a queen-sized berth, smart use of storage space, a full-sized shower head as well as entertainment center with a TV/VCR. All in all, both VIP and Master incorporated plenty of hanging lockers, shelves, bins and other stowage areas. More to the interior, you’ll notice optional filter joined into the sanitary system to stop holding tank stench. The mirrors are directly overhead the sinks and not away at some neck-broaden angle.

On Planing

The Carver 346 has pleasurable ride even on bad weather. In fact, the boat has stability during acute turns and most credit goes to her Teleflex SeaStar hydraulic steering which provides a remarkable handling on top cruise levels. Out on a drive, powered on twin 370 horse power Merc Cruiser 8.1 spheres up to a cruising speed of 25.1 miles an hour at 3500rpm, at that speed she gives a total fuel burn of 36.2 gallons an hour resulting in a cruising range of 122 miles. As mentioned earlier, her top speed of 33.7mph at 4400 rpm gives a quick planing time of at just 8.4 seconds.
Of course, times have changed in regard to exterior styling; but things have stayed the same on the 346 MotorYacht , still with two staterooms on both ends of the boat, a full beam salon and all the placates of home that has made the Aft-cabin Motoryacht in high demand in the first place!
